I have a problem. In all honestly I didn’t know I had a problem. I knew that whenever someone would see a new piece, I would have to immediately show them what went wrong as I made the piece which I thought was just me working through the learning process and analyzing each piece. However, my husband showed me an article in a Popular Woodworking Magazine, April 2013, called A Woodworking Disorder.
The author described his problem and gave it a name, Compulsive Mistake Identification. That describes me! While I am not proud of my affliction, at least I know it has a name, and knowing is half the battle. Now the challenge is to learn to hold my tongue, accept the praise, and learn to just say, “Thank you.”
Enjoy the next piece with no editorial comments!
